Come in straight away if breathing is severely difficult — if the patient cannot finish a sentence, the lips or fingertips look blue, or an inhaler is not helping as it usually does. Call 02742-255540 on the way.
Conditions treated
Asthma attacks
Acute attacks not settling with a home inhaler, including patients needing nebulisation and oxygen.
Pneumonia
Chest infection assessed with X-ray on site and treated as an inpatient where needed.
COPD flare-ups
Worsening chronic bronchitis and emphysema, with oxygen and ventilator support available.
Breathlessness
Shortness of breath investigated with X-ray, ECG and echocardiography, since the cause may be cardiac.
Breathlessness is one of those symptoms where the cause matters more than the symptom. Having X-ray, ECG and echocardiography in the same building means a chest problem and a heart problem can be told apart on the first visit rather than across two.
What the hospital can provide
- Central oxygen piped to every ICU bed, rather than carried in cylinders room to room
- Ventilator support for patients whose breathing is failing
- Central suction at the bedside
- X-ray on the premises, so a chest film does not mean sending the patient elsewhere
- An 8-bed ICU for patients needing continuous monitoring. More on intensive care
- Round-the-clock cover, with nursing staff on site overnight and the doctor on call
Care is managed by Dr. Ambarish A. Panchasara, MBBS, MD (Medicine), Gujarat Medical Council registration G-48998.
If you manage a long-term condition
Patients with asthma or COPD are seen in the regular OPD, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, seven days a week — for reviewing inhaler technique, adjusting treatment, and planning what to do when symptoms worsen.
Bring your current inhalers and any previous X-rays or prescriptions with you. Knowing what has already been tried saves a visit.
