The hospital does not run its own ambulance, so arrange local transport.

Conditions treated

Newly diagnosed diabetes

Understanding what the diagnosis means, starting treatment and setting a follow-up plan.

Uncontrolled sugars

Review of readings, tablets and insulin when sugars stay high despite treatment.

Diabetic emergencies

Very high or very low sugars needing urgent correction and close monitoring.

Diabetes with heart risk

Blood pressure and heart assessment alongside sugar control, with ECG and echocardiography on site.

Diabetes and heart disease often travel together, and diabetes can hide the usual warning signs of a heart attack. More on cardiac care.

Warning signs worth acting on

Low sugar can come on within minutes:

  • Shaking, sweating, sudden hunger or a racing heartbeat
  • Confusion, unusual behaviour or drowsiness

If the person is awake and can swallow, give sugar, glucose or a sweet drink straight away. If they are drowsy or unconscious, give nothing by mouth and bring them in.

Very high sugar usually builds over hours or days:

  • Extreme thirst and passing a lot of urine
  • Vomiting or abdominal pain
  • Deep, fast breathing or increasing drowsiness

Also get a foot wound seen promptly if it is not healing, is spreading, or comes with fever. Reduced feeling in the feet means these can become serious before they hurt.

What the hospital can provide

  • OPD follow-up seven days a week, so a review does not have to wait for a particular day
  • ECG and echocardiography on site, to check the heart when diabetes raises the risk
  • BP and pulse monitoring, since blood pressure control matters as much as sugar control
  • An in-house medical store, so treatment can begin without a separate trip
  • An 8-bed ICU for patients needing continuous monitoring. More on intensive care
  • Round-the-clock emergency cover, with nursing staff on site overnight and the doctor on call. More on emergency care

Care is led by Dr. Ambarish A. Panchasara, MBBS, MD (Medicine), Gujarat Medical Council registration G-48998, whose practice covers diabetology and cardiology. Consultations are available in Gujarati, Hindi and English.

Coming for a diabetes review

Patients with diabetes are seen in the regular OPD, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, seven days a week.

Bring your current medicines or insulin, your home sugar readings if you keep them, and any recent reports or prescriptions. Knowing what has already been tried saves a visit. Keep taking your prescribed treatment unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
